I am an almost 40 year-old, full time working, married, mama to one fiesty 6 year-old that loves to have fun and stay active.  I started running 5 years ago when I got bored with the gym & elliptical and have been going since.  I am not a fast runner but love the comraderie and spirit of the running community! I have done 9 half marathons 3 of which as a relay.  I first ran the Mushroom Cap in 2017 and loved that it was less than an hour away, had great swag, an awesome after party and was small and intimate!

I started running in 2014 when I decided to train for my first 5K. Shortly after I started training I was diagnosed with cancer. One month after my surgery I ran (mostly walked!) my first 10K. Running became my therapy in dealing with cancer and everything that came with it. I’m not a fast runner and I never will be. In fact, I’ve dubbed myself Captain of the Mullet Crew – you know it’s all business in the front and we’re the party in the back of the pack! Since 2014 I’ve done 3 Ragnar Relays, 2 marathons, 17 half marathons and a bunch of other races. I’ll never win a race, but I’m grateful for every day that I’m above ground and can put one foot in front in front of the other.

Rob has been running for 24 years.  He enjoys finding small community road races throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware and enjoyed running the Mushroom Cap Half Marathon so much, that he is back for more.

My name is Ryan! In the past few years, I have been focusing primarily on UltraMarathons and longer mountain trail runs. However there are a few local races that I make sure I fit into my racing schedule, the Mushroom Cap Half Marathon is definitely one of them! I'm currently training for my first 100-mile race, "Run Rabbit Run," in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. When I'm not on the trails though I love to look for unique road races to compete in. Kennet Square's beautiful rolling hills and quiet countryside landscape is just one of the many features of the MCHM that keeps me coming back year after year!

My name is Nina Conner and I am a recent college graduate from Neumann University, majoring in Communications and Digital Media.  Over the course of the last couple years, I spent countless weekends at the Kennett YMCA, working camp and in the youth sports department. Outside of work, I enjoy photography, playing basketball and going to the beach. I look forward to seeing everyone at the race!

Hi, I’m Gene! I fell in love with running when I started volunteering for a youth mentoring program that uses running to help middle- and high-school students set new goals and practice healthy habits. I now work at a running store as an Assistant Manager and am very active in the Philadelphia running community. When I’m not running, I like discovering new places to eat, exploring the outdoors and traveling to new places, or doing a good old-fashioned jigsaw puzzle.

Brian Turner enjoys running so much it hurts. Literally. This will be his fourth year running the Mushroom Cap Half and he is so excited to help spread the word about this gorgeous race. When he isn't running he spends his time working, playing guitar and singing, and learning how to play video games from his 10 year old and 6 year old boys.  His PR in yogurt eating is 22 seconds.

I love living in Kennett Square and I’m proud to represent a race that showcases beautiful Southern Chester County! I have 3 children and work as a physical therapist. My passion and sanity, is running! I have run 6 marathons, all with my husband. I always look forward to The Mushroom Cap Half! I love the course for its beauty, and it’s challenges. The fact that it ends with an amazing community party, is just the icing on the cake!
