We know participating in a virtual event isn’t the same as taking it all in, in person. We get it, and we don’t love it either. We would much rather be there on race day with all of you to cheer you on and watch you cross the Finish Line! But since 2020 is a little different for us all, we’re rolling with the punches and hope you’ll join us. We’re working to create an engaging and inspiring virtual experience for you that will help encourage you all the way through training and across YOUR finish line.
So if you’re debating whether or not you should join us, know that we and the rest of the MCHM community will have your back through it all. Additionally, see below for helpful information regarding our virtual events and what to expect if you choose to embark on the virtual MCHM experience.

Run remotely anywhere
Complete a continuous 5K, 10k or 13.1 by the end of race week from anywhere and receive a premium MCHM Capper quarter zip shirt, race bib, and a Fungi Card for perks to our favorite community partners.

Run remotely with other local FunGIs
Complete a continuous 5K, 10k, or 13.1 on November 7th with friends and end at Anson B. Nixon Park between the hours of 10am-2pm, for a COVID safe, swag pick up. Grab your premium ¼ zip MCHM shirt, race bib, Fungi Card, water, high fives and listen to a set from The Late Ambitions!
The FunGI Trotter Challenge
Run The MCHM and Action Potential’s Turkey Trot
Register to virtually run The MCHM and Action Potential’s Turkey Trot receiving swag from both races and a unique dual race, finisher medal.
Run any distance of the MCHM beginning 11/7 but before 11/26 and then run any distance of Action Potential's Turkey Trot on 11/26 and receive a dual race, finisher medal. Medals will be mailed to our FunGI Turkey Trotters after 11/26.
When registering for the challenge, a portion of both events’ proceeds will benefit local non-profits providing COVID 19 relief.
What is a Virtual Race?
A virtual event allows participants to complete the race on their own. You will run or walk the race distance at your own pace and at a time and location of your choosing. You choose your own race day and your own starting line, whether it’s a treadmill, a park or your neighborhood street. This option will allow those invested so heavily in their training to keep going and be rewarded for their efforts.
Do I have to run my virtual event on a specific weekend?
No, you choose your planned race date. We encourage participants to complete their fall race between 11/7 and 11/14.
Will it be a set course or one we can make up?
We’re going to be on the honor system for completing the event. However, we ask that participants upload their finish time so we have a results page. You will have the option to upload your results manually or through RunSignUP. After virtual final instructions are sent, you will receive a separate email on how to upload your results. Please tag us via your social channels and use this year’s hashtag, #VirtualFunGI2020. We want to see you running, we want to celebrate your accomplishment.
What participant amenities will I receive for the virtual event??
You will receive a premium ¼ quarter zip shirt, a participant bib, and a Kennett ² FunGi Card. We will attempt to have in-person pickup for local residents to pick up these items when it’s safe to do so. For non-local residents and those unable to make an in-person pickup, we will mail to the address provided during the registration process.
Will I receive my additional premiums for participating in the FunGI Trotter Challenge?
You will receive a unique, dual event finishers medal for competing in the challenge. Medals will be mailed to all challenge participants beginning December 1st, we will mail to the address provided during the registration process.
What happens if I already registered to run one of the MCHM events before COVID-19?
All participants who registered prior to COVID will be rolled into The Fungi Virtual Event, receive a premium MCHM ¼ quarter zip, a $20 coupon code to use for The MCHM 2021, and a Kennett ² FunGi Card. The MCHM race staff will contact you via email to find out which race and swag pickup option you prefer.
How can I register for the MCHM virtual events?

All participants of the MCHM will be running to help provide COVID relief directly to our local, charity partners. $10 from every race entry will directly benefit:
• The Kennett Area Food Cupboard
• The Garage Community & Youth Center
• La Communidad
Participants can also help provide COVID relief to the following charity partners by donating directly online:

Beginning November 7th, participants will be able to submit their race time via RunSignUp. We are operating this year on the honor system but hope you upload your time and share your virtual experience with us at #VirtualCapper. Detailed instructions will be mailed to all participants prior to race week.
Registration must take place by 10/1 to qualify for a MCHM ¼ quarter zip.
After 10/1 the price will decrease to $25 per runner and will NOT include a MCHM ¼ quarter zip.
Upon registering and selecting your race option, runners will choose to have their race swag mailed directly to them or select to pick it in person on November 7th. Location Coming Soon!
Mailed premiums will go out after November 14th. Premium pick up/ mail order decisions cannot be changed after registration is complete.
